Julie Lévesque

Lévesque is a Quebec artist originally from Montreal, now based in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. A self-taught artist, she has been exploring creativity since childhood, gradually developing a deeply personal universe where color, spontaneity, and imagination take center stage.

Where Imagination Comes to Life

Both a painter and a tattoo artist, she has made art a true way of life. Her unconventional journey, which has taken her through fields as diverse as welding and beauty, now fuels a creative approach that is free, bold, and without boundaries. For Lévesque, virtually any surface can become a canvas, whether it is traditional canvas, skin, or an unexpected medium.

Working primarily with acrylics, her pieces stand out through vibrant colors, rich textures, and an unmistakable sense of energy. Her style draws inspiration from street art and graffiti while blending abstraction with a deliberately naïve figurative approach. Unique characters, spontaneous movement, and eccentric compositions come together to create a vivid world where imagination takes precedence over convention.

A Vibrant, Free-Spirited World Without Limits

Active in numerous art symposiums throughout Quebec and participating in international competitions, Lévesque continues to evolve and push her artistic practice forward. Her work reflects an authentic and instinctive creative personality—a universe filled with playful madness, boldness, and color, where every piece becomes an invitation to see the world differently.

Through her collaboration with Based On Art, Lévesque’s universe moves beyond the canvas and takes on a new dimension through clothing. It is a way to extend her artistic expression and allow people to wear a piece of her colorful, unconventional world.
