Our mission
At Based On Art, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact in an authentic, responsible, and transparent way, far from the greenwashing often seen in the fast fashion industry. Every production decision is driven by a genuine effort to lower our ecological footprint, while respecting the people, artists, and local partners involved at every stage.
Our artist-designed clothing is printed exclusively using recycled ink, helping reduce toxic waste, conserve resources, and support eco-friendly fashion practices. This approach is part of a broader carbon-neutral vision, applied across our local production chain, from the selection of sustainable materials to distribution.
Most Based On Art clothing is made in Quebec, in local manufacturing facilities where workers are unionized and benefit from fair working conditions. For garments produced outside the province, we partner exclusively with workshops located within 800 km, carefully selected for their strong social and environmental standards.
For us, how people are treated throughout the production process is just as important as reducing environmental impact. All decorations, printing, and finishing are completed in Montreal by a specialized local workshop that shares our commitment to quality, durability, and environmental responsibility.
